  • A Ro-Ro ship in Lyttelton Harbor, Christchurch, SI.
  • Lyttelton coal terminal, the destination of the coal trains from the West Coast.
  • The Christchurch tramway, a very modern operation with vintage cars.
  • The interior of one of the trolleys.
  • Probably the only trolley line to run right through a mall, this car stops right on the doorsteps of a cafe. The switch leads to the car barn in a side street.
  • Looking the other way, the City Loop exits through the automatic doors on the right, while the car barn lead veers to the left.
  • Inside the carbarn, the restaurant car is outfitted for tonight's dinner run.
  • A truly magnificient car, inside and out. It features a full kitchen, too!
  • One of the oldest restored trolleys, No. 11.
  • Overall view of the carbarn. The friendly personnel explained the operation and vintage of the cars.
  • Back in the mall, car No. 132 plus trailers wait for passengers to embark. Note the stroller hung on the front of the car.
  • Car No. 178 on the City Loop.
  • A vintage GE controller inside car No. 178.
  • Dodging traffic is never a problem, at least if you ride the trolley!
  • Final frame: a coal vessel being loaded with export coal for Japan.
