Pictures from the triangle Cologne - Aachen - Düsseldorf in the far western part of Germany. There's quite a bit of traffic variety, in no small part due to the international trains running into Belgium and the Netherlands and a sizeable industrial base in the nearby Ruhr area.

    111 115 pushes her RE4 northbound to the station stop in Übach-Palenberg.
    Due to construction-related detours of freight trains off the KBS480 (Cologne-Aachen), a number of freights ran on the otherwise fairly boring KBS 485 via Grevenbroich, where they turned south for Cologne. Here Cobra-Traxx 2830 leads the FE 44527 (Antwerp/B - Gremberg) downgrade into Herzogenrath.
    2828 northbound with a brace of low-side gondolas in Lindern. Again, this train is a detour off the Aachen-Cologne line.
